This picture is one of many I have painted of this stretch of the Quharity Burn. Light, texture, atmosphere, the key preoccupations of my efforts as an artist. This composition affords me an opportunity to explore all of these issues.
Incidentally, the "Quh" of the place name is pronounced as if it were "wh" as in "which". Apparently the spelling was changed to "Quh" 200 yeas ago, or so, because it was regarded as being more fashionable !
